His career spans two continents, from shaping South Africa’s biggest reality formats to producing standout unscripted content in the UK. Whether it’s launching original series, crafting compelling narratives in post-production, or brainstorming fresh show concepts, Donald’s passion for storytelling shines through in every project.

After founding Lucky Bean in 2011, Donald spearheaded the company’s growth to winning major broadcast commissions such as MasterChef South Africa and producing award winning productions such as Girl Eat World and My Story. Lucky Bean partnered with brands such as KFC, Tusker, Chivas and McDonalds on long form branded entertainment projects. Recruited into Rapid Blue (owned by BBC Studios) as its Commercial Director in 2017, Donald spearheaded unscripted development and oversaw the launch of the Bachelor franchise in South Africa and was instrumental in a co-development deal between M-Net and BBC Studios being agreed during the Covid epidemic.

Since moving to the UK in 2020, Donald has become a sought-after Series Producer and Edit Producer, helping to shape hit shows like Next Level Chef (Fox), Charlotte in Sunderland (BBC), and Kitchen Nightmares (Fox). Donald thrives on the thrill of reality storytelling—whether it's shaping epic competition formats, crafting sharp and engaging edits, or developing fresh, must-watch shows.
